HIGHLIGHTS
MAUTC is one of the ten original centers in the University Transportation
Centers Program, established by the U.S. Department of Transportation
in 1987 to promote efficient movement of people and goods in all regions
of the nation. There are now 33 centers. MAUTC operates on an annual grant
from the Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Transit Administration
that is matched with money from state, local, university, and private
sources. The University Transportation Centers Program is administered
through the U.S. Department of Transportation's
Research and Innovative Technology Administration.
