The Pennsylvania Transportation Institute will be hosting the 9th Internatinal Symposium on Heavy Vehicle Weights and Dimensions on behalf of the International Forum for Road Transport Technology. The wide-ranging scope of the symposium provides a broad platform for contributions from various disciplines involved in aspects of vehicle technology, vehicle-infrasructure interaction, safety, policy, and regulations. It promotes discussion and sharing of ideas on a wide array of topics concerning heavy vehicles by assembling an internatinal group of researchers, regulatory authorities, and industry leaders in the field of transportation. The theme of the symposium is Vehicles-Roads-Regulations: Crossing the Bridges. It will be held at the Nittany Lion Inn. The 2005 Transportation Engineering and Safety Conference promises to provide important information for today's transportation professionals throughout Pennsylvania, the Mid-Atlantic states, and the country. Experts from the transportation field will speak on a variety of current issues to advance the education and knowledge of transportation professionals. Seven pre-conference workshops are also offered for more in-depth coverage of selected topics.
