Bohdan T. Kulakowski Travel Award
The Bohdan T. Kulakowski Scholarship Fund was established in 2006 in memory of Dr. Kulakowski, a highly acclaimed educator and researcher at Penn State who served as director of the Institute from 1992 to 2003. Dr. Kulakowski was highly regarded for his teaching at Penn State and won numerous awards. His honors include the University’s George W. Atherton Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Penn State Engineering Society (PSES) Outstanding Teaching Award, and the PSES Premier Teaching Award. In 2000, Discovery Magazine recognized his fuzzy logic algorithm for avoiding skidding accidents as one of its top ten technological innovations of the year.
